The promise of a nation


We began as a nation with extreme promise, a clean slate where anything was possible. Almost immediatly we failed on that promise.
In his farewell address Washington warned the nation of the dangers he saw in the fledgling government. He warned us not to fall into the trap of factions and politics over the ideal of building a strong, diverse nation.
it is of infinite moment that you should properly estimate the immense value of your national union to your collective and individual happiness
