Okay one more reason why we Democrats have to slam dunk this clown!

Lieberman Won't Rule Out Independent Bid

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Sen. Joe Lieberman, facing a challenge from within the Democratic Party for renomination, said Monday he has not ruled out seeking a fourth term as an independent.

"I have not foreclosed the option," Lieberman said at a news conference at the Connecticut state Capitol. "If I wanted to run as an independent, I would. I'm running as a Democrat. I've been a Democrat all my life."....

Lieberman said he is not upset with fellow Democrats for opposing the war in Iraq. He, too, has criticized certain operations of the war and the Bush administration's handling of postwar Iraq, he said.

"I feel very strongly the world is safer without Saddam Hussein in power. We have to complete the job in Iraq," Lieberman said.

No one with at least five operating braincells would disagree with the first part of the above statement, it is the second part that is problematic. What job are we finishing? Shrub Co. have defunded rebuilding operations and programs to establish democracy in Iraq.

The only operation I can see is the destabilization, depopulation, and the establishment of permanent US bases amidst anarchy. If that's the job Joementum is referring to we are well ahead of schedule.

All joking aside even if Ned Lamont was to capture the Democratic nomination by a landslide the effects of a Lieberman 3rd party run cannot be underestimated. In a close race, Lieberman would certainly derail Lamont's November run by prying status quo and conservative Democrats who would refuse to vote Republican.

It is unfortunate that Lieberman is actively considering handing the Republicans a Senate seat in a year when the Democrats are of the ascendant. Joe no one likes a sore loser and the rest of your party certainly do not appreciate your threats.
