Funny thing these internets. You search for one thing and come across something else and your off. Long forgotten is what you were searching for and off on another path far removed. While searching, AGAIN, for the Tom Dooley parody played on AAR's Springer on the Radio, (Hang Yourself Out To Dry) Tom DeLay I came across this old NRO article:

Well we know how all that turned out, right Nostradamus Pfeiffer? The really funny part of the article is contained in the last paragraph:

Meanwhile, DeLay and his allies are responding. A legal defense fund for DeLay has generated over $250,000 in contributions during the last few months. And the National Journal "insiders poll" of members of Congress shows a majority believe DeLay is a greater asset to Republicans than a liability. If Nancy Pelosi continues to threaten Tom DeLay with an Ethics Committee investigation over KORUSEC she will face mounting evidence against her claims and well-funded DeLay supporters ready to refute them.

I wonder if that "insider poll" would have the same results today?
