More On The DeLay Thugs
The E-mail:
The disruption by more than two dozen DeLay supporters drowned out Nick Lampson's message. Delay's staff indicated such displays would continue through the November election. The response from the the Lampson campaign:
"Let's give Lampson a parting shot that wrecks his press conference," read a mass e-mail to supporters by DeLay campaign manager Chris Homan.
Homan said he organized the protest through phone calls and e-mails, but DeLay didn't know about it.
Mike Malaise, Lampson's campaign manager, said the protest was a form of intimidation.
"This incident certainly shows that Tom DeLay continues to try and intimidate the people of this district from speaking out against his unethical activity," he said.
Nick Lampson:
Lampson, who represented an adjacent district for eight years until DeLay-engineered redistricting cost him re-election in 2004, said the demonstration was nothing new.
"I did it in 1996. (ed- Dealing with Republican protestors) I had to give away more fish dinners at some of our fundraisers because when they would come and do this, I would give them food. It's OK," he said.
Help Nick bring decorum and respect back to Tx-22, here.
