Sr. al-Qaida Leader Said Killed in Iraq
By THOMAS WAGNER Associated Press Writer
September 27,2005 | BAGHDAD, Iraq -- U.S. and Iraqi authorities said Tuesday their forces had killed the No. 2 official in the al-Qaida in Iraq organization in a weekend raid in Baghdad, claiming to have struck a "painful blow" to the country's most feared insurgent group.

Al-Qaida in Iraq denied that Abu Azzam was the No. 2 leader of the organization and said "it was not confirmed" that he was killed. "Abu Azzam was one of al-Qaida's many soldiers and is the leader of one of its battalions operating in Baghdad," the group said in an Internet statement by its spokesman, Abu Maysara al-Iraqi.
Hard to believe but al-Qaida has finally run out of number three's. After years of picking them off the U.S. has finally moved up the number scale to the number two men in the terrorist organization.
When asked about this success, U.S. Commander of Futility in the Field, General Killdem Brown Folk responded, "It has taken a while for us to root out the last number three and the good news is their are obviously going to be less two's than three's."
