Nice Grip Johnny.....

The right is responding to the new Obama add that criticizes McCain for lack of technical savvy in world that demands it. They claim McCain was so brutalized by his jailers that he can no longer comb his hair or tie his shoes. A bit of a stretch when you consider these photos:

Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit

McCain at the Sausage Haus
July 24, 2008 12:10 PM

ABC News' David Wright Reports: Today as his rival prepares to deliver a major address to the throngs in Germany, John McCain counter-programmed with a more modest event bound to invite comparisons.

Obama was at the Tiergarten in Berlin, amid a sea of people. McCain was at "Schmidt's Sausage Haus und Restaurant" in German Village, an enclave of Columbus, Ohio.
Word is that when Obama was in Israel, McCain countered by going to a shawarma joint in Manhattan.

Duncan Doing His Best Not To Become President

Sooooo, what does a application to work on Duncan Hunter's campaign look like? One can only imagine. So thanks to Roger Ailes, we greet another of his employee's , Dr. Hunter Jordan.
'Screw the Buddhists and kill the Muslims' says S.C. education official
COLUMBIA, S.C.
(May 16, 1997 12:25 p.m. EDT)

A state Board of Education member, talking Tuesday about displaying the Ten Commandments in public schools, had a ready suggestion for groups who might object to it.

"Screw the Buddhists and kill the Muslims," Dr. Henry Jordan said during the board's finance and legislative committee meeting. "And put that in the minutes," he added.

The remarks made Tuesday were expunged from the written minutes, but were recorded on tape. The (Columbia) State obtained the tape under the Freedom of Information Act.

Jordan, a surgeon who failed in a bid to get the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor in 1994, said Thursday he thought the meeting was over and members were engaged in private conversation.

The tape, however, shows the committee proceeding to other items on the agenda.

Jordan also said he didn't mean for his comments to be taken literally.
Ummm... yeah, of course you didn't mean it seriously. Doc, I was born on a Friday, but it wasn't last Friday. Oh and well you thought it was off the record and not part of the meeting? WTF?

Okay it gets better, and why all this brouhaha over The Ten Commandments, otherwise known as Hammurabi's Code, pocket edition.
"What I want to do is promote Christianity as the only true religion," he said. "This nation was founded to worship, honor and glorify Jesus Christ, not Mohammed, not Buddha."
He must have missed that whole separation of church and state thing in civics class.

Vilsack Out For Dems, Hunter Taking Steps To Remove Himself From Contention.

Well the first casualty of the highly accelerated 08 election season has been identified, Tom Vilsack. Never an A-list contender Vilsack was mentioned as a candidate since he left the governorship of Iowa a few years back.

On the Republican side it seems that Senator Duncan Hunter wants out of this race really, really bad. Otherwise why be this stupid.
Hunter taps like-minded conservatives in S.C. to lead campaign

COLUMBIA, S.C. | Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter on Thursday named a South Carolina adviser who boasted about telling an illegal immigrant worried about an abused child to "get back to Mexico."

At a news conference at the Statehouse, Horry County Auditor Lois Eargle talked up her hard-line stance on illegal immigrants. The former county GOP chairwoman said an illegal immigrant with three children came to her office this week asking for free legal help for an abused child.

"I told her the best thing for her to do was to get back to Mexico," Eargle said....
I'm surprised St McCain of Whore didn't hire this winner. She would have fit right in with that nest of barbarians. oh well, Guess the old story is true, love the fetus hate the child eh Lois....

The Edwards' Blogger Non Story: Coda

So, the blogger controversy ends with a thud. A few days ago, Edwards, much to his credit, released a reasonable statement on the non-issue. I would have liked to have seen something a bit stronger but given the circumstances and the unhinged nature of his accusers, this will do. John you are back on the list.

The tone and the sentiment of some of Amanda Marcotte's and Melissa McEwan's posts personally offended me. It's not how I talk to people, and it's not how I expect the people who work for me to talk to people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that kind of intolerant language will not be permitted from anyone on my campaign, whether it's intended as satire, humor, or anything else. But I also believe in giving everyone a fair shake. I've talked to Amanda and Melissa; they have both assured me that it was never their intention to malign anyone's faith, and I take them at their word. We're beginning a great debate about the future of our country, and we can't let it be hijacked. It will take discipline, focus, and courage to build the America we believe in.

Did He Actually Say This?

Usually Biden's presidential runs or exploratory committees last a few months and then crawl back to the credit card lined walls of their cage. He may have just set a new record for dumbest thing said AND shortest campaign in U.S. history:
Mr. Biden is equally skeptical—albeit in a slightly more backhanded way—about Mr. Obama. “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

But—and the “but” was clearly inevitable—he doubts whether American voters are going to elect “a one-term, a guy who has served for four years in the Senate,” and added: “I don’t recall hearing a word from Barack about a plan or a tactic.”
So dum, it doesn't deserve the dignity of a "b" at the end of the word.
